Life throws fastballs at all of us – no one is exempt. We just need to learn how to hit them. When we face them, we often find ourselves running from something so that we can hopefully find the anecdote for them. We often find ourselves hiding in the cave, yet God is waiting for us on the mountain. But, it takes faith to get there. In part 2 of our series, BACK2LIFE, Pastor Keith teaches on the story of Elijah and how sometimes the very thing we are running from is the very thing that God is telling us to face down! It’s time to get out of the cave and stand on the mountain…it’s time to get BACK2LIFE!
A man has been robbed and left for dead on the side of the road. Sin will do that you know. It steals our character and our confidence before God…leaving us nothing but devastation. Religion keeps us so busy with all that we feel called to do that we forget to hear the voice of the One who calls. A Samaritan walks by and decides that he is going to get in on the mess. Not only does he assist the man, he offers to take on his debt! Yet Christ, even while we were still sinners, did this very thing for us. He came down to our level, met us where we were at & continues today to offer healing and freedom. The ultimate Redeemer, who owed nothing, but paid it all that we may be debt-free of our sin and live eternally with Him! That’s what Easter is all about!
The Bible commands us to work hard, but it also tells us that it is God – not us – who produces results through our work. We live in a world of chaos void of rest. God wants to give rest to anyone seeking it, but finding it is based on if we believe His grace has made it available to us. The only work remaining for us is to enter His rest. In part 1 of our new series, REST, Pastor Keith teaches us that to truly rest, we must be confident in what Jesus has already completed for us.
